Some of our customers have experienced a problem when using the IP-Granite Roamer client connection when using 3G routers. After some investigation it was found that this problem is related to the type of network packets used by the IP-Granite software which are not compatible with some 3G routers. A further requirement, to make use of proxy servers in a Roamer connection, led to a whole new design of the IP-Granite Roamer client software.
The new software will now tunnel all the IP-Sec traffic from the Roamer Client, through a SSL tunnel, to the Roamer gateway. To add to the tunnelling functionality, the Roamer client will now also support a Proxy server. This means that if the Roamer user is located in a private network environment where only traffic to the Internet is allowed and controlled by a Proxy server, a connection via the proxy server to the IP-Granite gateway will be possible.
The new Roamer client still has all the features of the older versions, the only change is that it will now be easier to use from different network environments.
Although some customers are already using the new version (ver.3.80), it will officially be launched on 18 May 2007. |
